Early morning on June twentieth, seven new hairs came out in Tress Up, and since that's a reasonable number I figured I'd rate/review each one and then give the collection a final score!
Here are the hairs, names, and prices, all in one screenshot:
Beyonce Hair
It's not my style, the bun sits awkward in my opinion, and it doesn't give the head any shape or frame. But, it does have nice detail and fits well enough, and I can see how someone could dress it up and use it, so I'll give this one a 3/10.
Karlie Hair
I was excited about this one because it's cute as ever and my hair in real life used to be cut the exact same length, and my hair at that length curled just in that way. I was a bit saddened when I tried it on though because it's not voluminous enough to look realistic or very believable. I bought it anyways because I want to love it, plus I plan on making a hair extension in Stardesign to make it more natural looking. It has a good fit, totally centered correctly. 8/10.
Purple Rain Hair
I don't know why it's displayed purple but there isn't anything purple about it when you put another color in. Despite that, this is a nice, easy, simple hair that's made well and fits nicely, except a few transparent spots around the neck. I haven't bought it yet but I think I will soon. 9/10, I'm feeling generous.
Summer Braids
No complaints! I love this! Very summery, very girly, it fills all of the emtpy holes in my aching heart to have a good braided hair on Stardoll. 10/10 no question.
Summer Breeze Hair
Super awkward, voluminous in all the wrong places... I simply don't like this one. 0/10.
Summer Ombre
I'm getting a little worn out on ombre but I'm excited this hair finally was released. Stardoll teases us with hairs in their advertisements, and this is probably everyone's most wanted. Sixteen stardollars is a small price to pay for months of longing. It's a good hair for summer and has an OK fit, 9/10.
Tori Hair
The braid is weirdly thick and is a little to high up, but other than that it fits well and is a good, safe braid. 9/10.
3+8+9+10+0+9+9 = 48/70 = 69%
Where I live, that's a passing grade. If it weren't for the weird Summer Breeze Hair, this collection would be sparkling.
What do you like about the new hairs? Have you bought any? What are your favorites?

Military Beach
This look is a red and white beach look, with a military jacket for a twist.
For the makeup styling, I kept it simple and light pink. I did more highlights for another hair and used them for this look for the beachy, sunkissed waves.
I plan on doing more bathing suit outfits this year because I hardly wore any last year.
Do you think the military jacket is a nice twist or a bad addition?

A Shoe Adventure
The other day I moved all of my shoes from two rooms into the large panorama room. I recorded it and edited it into six minutes. It took 47 minutes in total.
I don't use my shoe closet for them because I feel like I neglect my shoes when I do that.
How do you organize your shoes?

LE Orange and Turquoise
One thing Stardoll did nicely with this new LE collection is keeping an ok color scheme. I like the oranges and turquoises and tans together, it's nice on the eyes. The items in this look are the only LE items I bought. Like I said in yesterday's post, I might style each piece on it's own in the future.
The makeup is what I feel pulls this look together. I mixed it up and did tan for blush, and pink for bronzer, and I don't know if I'm ok with it yet. I hardly use my brown lipstick and I thought this was a good chance to put it to use. This is the tutorial.
I could probably use a necklace or cropped jacket, because it does look a little unbalanced.
I actually had another look before this one but LE is priority haha. I'll post that in a couple of days.
Do you like the color scheming in this LE collection?

New in LE!
Le Spring/Summer 2013 came out today, and the general opinion is that it's not that good, but there are a few good pieces. That is exactly how I feel. These are the four items I bought, that I conveniently made into an outfit. I might style the pieces separately later on some day. Tomorrow I'll post the look and the pictures of how this outfit looks put together.
They're all simple and easy pieces. They're not dramatic or too runway. I think my favorite of just these four pieces are the wedges. I'm a sucker for a wedge.
Of the entire collection, I am not as disappointed as I want to be. At least this collection has pieces that connect enough to be a collection. The use of the lace and color scheme throughout connect them pretty well.
What did you buy? If you didn't buy anything, why not?

Hot Red
This look was for a competition that I might have joined a few hours to late to be able to participate (oh that rhymed) but it's cool because I wouldn't have won anyways.
The red in the skirt and DKNY headband are so flashy and warm they're a very hot color, and these pieces begged to be put together.
I used those beautiful heels from the new floor in the Royalty shop. I'm also using my new contacts I raved about yesterday.
The biggest trouble of this look was finding a good blazer. I knew I wanted a blazer to contrast the playfulness, and I spent maybe a good five minutes messing my organization up in my closet to find the perfect one. Surprisingly the one I ended up using here is from some lame Disney channel store in the Starplaza.
I used the belt to break up the fight for attention between the stripes and hot red skirt, and the earrings to balance the styling a bit.
I didn't do a tutorial for the makeup because it's simple.
Do you prefer a 'hot' red or a subtle red?

Floral Eye Contacts from Stardesign Jewelry
The other day I browsing the topic in Royalty for people who are advertising their sales, and came across this little gem: CaliforniaGrl89. She makes cute, affordable eye contacts that I can't resist. I bought a pair of her brown flower ones and have been wearing them since the day I bought them.
They're nicely put together and are a clever design. You should check out her other contact lenses when you have the chance!
I'll be wearing these in my next look so you can see them in action!

New in Royalty Store
Earlier yesterday a new floor came out in Royalty, which is always awesome news for members of Royalty. I am a member myself, and these are the two items that I bought right off of the bat, no hesitation, doubts, or regret:
I have so many plans for these shoes, they're very flexible for a lot of styles. They're a perfect color, they have a classy t-strap, but they come with an 11 stardollar price tag. Worth it.
The shades are just my type, cool and subtle. I'll be using them in my future swimwear looks.
Another thing I bought right away was the sister. In my opinion she's a cutie, but I understand if you find her a bit creepy aha.
Do you like these new items? If you're royalty, what have you purchased/ plan on buying?

Gypsy Robot
This look is another minimalist look I made. I started with the skirt and went from there. I had a load of trouble finding a good top. I didn't want to use the white tie front top, because it's a good default for when you can't find a perfect top, but I ended up using it. I layered it for an unexpected gypsy look.
The title of this look is Gypsy Robot. Do you agree with this title or would you name this look something else? Comment, don't be shy!
I love this skirt, I doubt this will be the last look I make with it. It's sort of futuristic because it's icy and near chrome.
This is the tutorial for the makeup, which is a little twist because it's not as icy as the rest of the look:

Shady Color Scheme
Yesterday I designed tights that had hearts on the knees, a design I've had in mind for a while. It was a bit tough to get the hearts to line up and I had to do a bit of adjusting, but I finally got it to look decent. I made this look around those tights and they're simple color scheme:
The dress and those shoes are two of my favorite items on Stardoll, that I probably will never sell for any amount of money in the world. They're so simple and easy to wear, and very flexible with many looks.
The hair I also designed. I am really bad at making whole hairstyles, but I found a knack in making highlights.
This is the tutorial I made for the makeup, using an all over shadow from Transform:

Design by midnightmonkey6
Today's look is based on this design by midnightmonkey6, who you should look up on Stardoll and check out her designs! She's very talented, and has this awesome pastel bones pattern that is awesome. I scooped it up for 10 stardollars from her bazaar a few days ago.
This is how I styled her design. Click to enlarge.
I didn't use any pastel clothes, I focused the pastels in the eye makeup. It's basically a super simple look because I didn't want any attention drawn away from the design.
This is a video tutorial I did on how I did the makeup:
I'll probably be doing quite a few more looks involving Stardesign Fashion clothes because I had a spree the other day buying up a bunch of cute, fun stuff people have designed.
How would you style midnightmonkey6's design?

New Museum Mile Faves
You probably noticed that yesterday a few new floors were released in the decor shop called Museum Mile. It's Frida Kahlo inspired, who I am mildly fond of.
I didn't buy any clothes yet, but I did buy these accessories. The bag on the left is called the Kahlo Tote Peonies. For a tiny 75 starcoins I bought this quickly. It's simple and cute and nicer looking than the other totes they've got at the shop. Then of course I grabbed the flower headbands, Kahlo Mint Braids for 4 stardollars and the Peony Headband for just 3 stardollars. I'll probably use the Peony Headband on my baby.

As for the decor items, I have the Hanging Paper Decoration (they're called papeles picados, w) in my wishlist, and all six of the colorful and cute circular hanging decorations about my suite in various rooms.
I also got a couple of the little mugs with floral designs on them, they are so charming!
Have you bought anything from the new floors of Museum Mile?

Two New Beautiful Stardesign Fashion Dresses
I've been spending a lot of time in the Starbazaar, specifically searching for Stardesign Fashion items. It's been mostly a success, I've bought a few surprisingly nice items that you wouldn't expect. I love shopping for Stardesign things. You can find unique items only you and a few other people have there, and it's normally considerably cheap. You're also supporting an artist when you buy their designs.
When I find a nice item in the bazaar, I look up the person who designed it to see if they are selling it in different colors, if they're selling other designs, or if they're selling it cheaper than you found it in the bazaar.
These are two lovely finds, the designer and price I payed for them on the tags:
The one on the left is a sheer black and pink gradient dress. This is so chic and lovely. I plan on making a look from this and posting it here on the blog some day maybe soon. The one on the right is a fabulous dress that has a colorful print on top and a peachy/pinky bottom. It's playful, yet subtle. I can't wait to make an outfit from it.
They're both very affordable, as well.

Brown with Black
For my very first look ever on this blog, I will be showing you/ talking about the color combo brown and black.
Together, they are a classy combo, in my eyes. But not everyone thinks the same. Some will say that brown and black are easily a faux pas, no question.
This is how I styled brown with black, using a pretty old Hot Buys dress as the focus. Click to enlarge.
I did green/yellow makeup because it follows an earthy sort of color scheme. Doing brown shadow and black eyeliner would have been too obvious.
Do you think brown and black work? Comment!
